Dude has directed and acted in a bunch of films. He isn't suddenly going to be afraid of being spread thin.

And I was sorta expecting to hear this after how he talked about the pressure to get Batman right while promoting Live By Night on all the talk shows. Plus Live By Night flopping probably had WB like ..."maybe you should just focus on acting, Ben".

Now I am going to need them to get the right director on this.

either he didn't think the script was good enough or he really thinks his performance as batman the character will suffer trying to direct and star at the same time, which is reasonably possible. Oh well who cares, no batman film will ever top Nolan's films.

I really don't think this is the biggest deal.. The thing I'd be most concerned about is the script and the pacing of the movie

After watching the movies they've released recently I have very little faith they can make a movie that's even half as good as their animated stuff
