The world of AMC's The Walking Dead is about to grow a little more, as AMC has officially announced that another spinoff is underway.

During the network's quarterly earnings call, COO Ed Carroll revealed the third spinoff is currently in "active development." Though he didn't offer any more information about the series, he did say that there have been good outlines pitched and that they feel "very good" about the series overall. Should this new spinoff be ordered to series, it will join a series of Rick-centric films and Fear the Walking Dead, which is gearing up for its fifth season.

The Walking Dead is going through something of a tumultuous time as a brand; the series has continued to lose ratings in its ninth season, along with actors Andrew Lincoln, Lauren Cohan and Danai Gurira. Lincoln will return for a series of films centered on his character Rick Grimes, while Cohan is currently starring on ABC's Whiskey Cavalier and Gurira continues to work in Marvel films, with plans to depart with the upcoming Season 10.

Earlier in the week, The Walking Dead game in development by Overkill was officially shut down by Skybound Entertainment. The game, a co-op shooter that released late last year, received negative reviews and was pulled from Steam, with the console versions canceled. Meanwhile, the final episode of Telltale's The Walking Dead adventure game will release in March.

Airing Sundays at 9 p.m. ET/PT on AMC, The Walking Dead stars Norman Reedus, Danai Gurira, Melissa McBride, Alanna Masterson, Josh McDermitt, Christian Serratos, Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Nadia Hilker, Dan Fogler, Angel Theory, Lauren Ridloff and Eleanor Matsuura.

AMC has two classic original shows, one apparently great spinoff (I can be bothered to watch Better Call Saul) and one pop culture phenomenon in The Walking Dead. They really don't have a track record like that. They're not seeing FX let alone the premium.networks.

It’s not about the quantity or quality. I’m just saying they need to stop relying on spinoffs.

Into the Badlands was/is great, but they fuxkin cancelled it for this shyt (I’m positive). Maybe because they’ve had more misses than successes with the original content that they rely on their popular shows to carry them.

But I agree with them not touching FX, even if I haven’t seen a new show from them in years.

Also, you’re fukkin up by not watching BCS.
