The career woman ain't gone be available to fly out on a whim when the players are on a road trip. The career woman ain't gone be able to just take off and go on vacation for a month during the offseason. Or available to facetime after a game or to hit a club with them cause they got to wake up and work in the morning. The true groupies are convenient. Logically that makes sense but what you’re skipping over is that middle section. Meeting them and fukking them is cool. Wifing them up is definitely the smarter thing to do. But to transition from fukking them to wifing them is a process of spending time together which is going to be hard to do on an athlete’s schedule.

The career minded woman will drop everything to be an athlete’s wife once they know they’ll be a wife. They ain’t gone drop everything to fly across the country like a groupie would. They know the odds of being made anything more than a groupie are too low so they won’t risk giving up that career. So it’ll be hard for the athlete to truly spend time with them to know the career woman is wife material.

Plus you saying they are willing to give up everything to be with the athlete kills your initial point. Cause once she gives up her career now she also has nothing to lose.
