Zion Williamson looks in shape as he celebrates the upcoming birth of his daughter. Edit: Baby is on the way.

My point of view is that you don't really see guys get healthier or skinnier as they age often. Clearly Zion ain't the most disciplined cat in the world. If he's the best version of himself he's obviously a guy that can be the best player on a championship team but I am highly dubious he ever reaches his potential.
Curry was 23-24 when we all thought his ankles were cooked. Embiid played 20 fewer games than Zion in his first four seasons while putting up weaker stats. Zion turning it around is not some unthinkable scenario.

You betting on it after all we've seen? I wouldn't.

NO was the #1 seed in the West before Zion went down. If he is healthy, they can compete with all of those teams. That is why they will not trade him until they are 100% convinced he will never stay on the court.

He is an MVP caliber player putting up Shaq-like offensive numbers to start his career. If you panic-trade a 23 year old and then he gets it together professionally somewhere else, you will never run a team again.

For argument's sake, let's say they traded him to the Knicks for Randle, Quickley, Grimes and every first NY can trade, plus swaps. Now imagine Zion playing 80 games in NY this coming season, he leads NY to a top-two seed in the East and wins MVP while becoming the biggest star in the league.

That disaster scenario is running through David Griffin's mind as well as NO's ownership.
You preaching to the choir. Like I said a kid this talented you sink the ship for :yeshrug: .

I can understand getting cold feet and trading him but how many #1 overall picks even look to be in the same stratosphere as an active Zion. If I’m a GM I’m just sinking with the Zion ship.

On talent like his I’m betting the house

It’s just two different philosophies you a high roller or you play it safe.

Zion plays for a Benson-owned team, breh. :pachaha:

They run shook organizations that are afraid to take risks. :jordanfacepalm:

No need to bet the house, as they will play it safe and keep things status quo (just like they do with the Saints :francis:).

Zion is NOT going anywhere.

But for both of them it wasn’t a matter of discipline. Cirrus ankles didn’t trouble him cause he as widely overweight and didn’t rehab properly. It was just a kick of the draw injury. Zion got injured developed terrible habits and from all appearances hasn’t formed the discipline to overcome his bad habits. Like the other breh said, people don’t usually develop that all of a sudden. Zion is probably going to head towards a more negative outcome than a positive one.
