My previous boss had a similar lifestyle but overseas. Was a big time engineer/inspector for offshore oil rigs, traveled the world stacking major bread, drinking and fukkin foreign hoes well into his 40s and 50s, no care in the world, at one point bought land in the Philippines for 100k developed a restaurant and beach house there then flipped it for a 3 milly lick... just more money to play with, living his best life.
5-6 years ago we met up for a work lunch (he's in his mid-60s), and he told me his biggest regret in his old age is not having kids, not having a son/legacy. That he was too self-centered to care in his youth living a fast wild life but the remorse had kicked-in in his late 50s/early 60s.
I don't have kids yet and i'm just past my mid-30s, but i always have that story/perspective in the back of mind. Don't run from the responsibility then wish you could walk it back once life forces you to slow down. Tho that's much easier to say when you're not in that person's shoes.
