Long story short, if you create any content that could be deemed kid friendly, your video needs to be FTC compliant and the video automatically loses:
End screens
Commenting
Notifications for viewers
Decrease in monetizing profits
Can't put links for merch, patreon, or other sponsorship
Users can't add vids to playlists

If you decide to put up videos that can be kid-friendly and don't identify it as such:
Copyright/Channel strikes
Loss of channel
Banned from adsense for life
Fined 42,000 per video by the FTC


Youtube is developing an algorithm that will detect and analyze channels for kid-friendly content and make judgements without manual review...meaning the Youtube AI can deem your NFL review channel as a kid channel since kids under 13 can watch it....

The million plus sub channels will be fine....

100k subs and below are screwed....

I went to a few YT seminars and from my notes, those are the three tiers they classify channels:

1M+ = Tier 1
100-500k subs = Tier 2
10k - 100k = Tier 3

They have large enough following outside of YT to make money....

Tier 3 incomes may experience a drop in revenue as high as 90% or even outright banned based on this Youtube algorithm....

I'll admit I do agree with some aspects of this "law" such as protecting children from disturbing images and content

Because I came up in the era where you "dirty records' aka vulgar music and music videos with sexual and violent imagery wasn't so accessible to kids

Radio wasn't broadcasting obscene records and for the most part rap music didnt get played till nighttime

Same with videos with adult content you had to see that onna premium channel

But YouTube is technically na broadcaster as well and has done little to protect kids from this type of content

Although I truly agree with what many are saying this law is done to shut down independent content creators with low subscriber numbers and cater more to studios and corporations to bring in big advertising money...

What is a kid friendly video? A kid can watch literally any video on YouTube. so they can basically just arbitrarily destroy any channel they want now? Whats the point of being on there then?
