I was in the barbershop and a mixed kid showed up. He was with his mom and it was his first time at a barbershop explicitly aimed at black men.

After he left, another barber clocked in and started speaking on the topic. Everyone concluded they wouldn't want a white parent, but couldn't agree on which would be harder to go through life with.

This may sound controversial but I feel like Black mothers do a better job of integrating their mixed child into Black spaces and also allowing them to have the "best of both worlds" when it comes to their ethnicity.

There are have been too many stories of mixed children from BM/WW unions coming out looking confused or insecure about their mixed ancestry because either the white mother was too ignorant to integrate their child(ren) into Black spaces or the father was laissez-faire about it or even absent.
