from what I remember Papoose's version might've actually been the first, -- he re-made it when Kay Slay brought him back out, but his earlier (& in my opinion waaaay better) version was from the mid-late 90's.
THIS though, is my favorite of the ABC raps, this Bay Area gangsta rapper did it the best & made it a song you could actually ride to:

haha, just looked it up & turns out that they are ALLLL from 1999. Papoose's original "Alphabetical Slaughter," Blackalicious's "A2G" & "Alphabet Aerobics" & Dubee's "ABC's 123's" were all released at the same damn time, to completely different audiences.
