Wii U is upon us and it's signalling a close to one of the most divisive generations yet. Was it the best generation or worst? For me it was one of the best if not the best so that makes it kind of hard for me to choose a favorite game but I think I've narrowed it down to two...

Donkey Kong Country Returns - I still haven't beaten this game and that's because I'm addicted to replaying levels I've already beaten. Either for speed runs or just because they're charming and fun. The soundtrack is perfect. The platforming is perfect. All the little touches are perfect. Just a fantastic game overall.

Batman Arkham City would be my other contender. Arkham Asylum and Arkham City both are 2 of the best games ever. I grew up with TAS like a lot of posters here so that's the Batman I know. I felt like this series captured a more "adult" version of just that so it was perfect for someone like me. That plus the polished combat system and metroidvania-like exploration made it one of my favorites this generation.

Mass Effect 1 - Player choice, customization, the music, the atmosphere, the story, everything was like nothing I played before. Played thru all the missions - including all the Mako stuff - fully 4 times. Never got old. Dont think I've beaten an xbla game more than once let alone a ME sized game

Virtua Fighter 5 Final Showdown - I love all fighters but I prefer 3D and this is my all time favourite. I see nothing wrong with it. Nuff said.

Call of Duty 4 - Probably the most fun multiplayer experience I've had on 360 starting with the beta and the original sohh clan. We fukked shyt up regularly :deadhorse: Diggy with that RPG tho :snoop::pachaha:

I love these choices because I spent a lot of time on fighters (sf4 and mvc3 in particular) and CoD4. Also ME is another one of of my favorite series too

fallout 3 - everything i want in an RPG. intense battles, stats that matter, explorable towns, shops, and lots of loot. but it was all that turned up on max

assassins creed 2 - the story was :ohhh:, especially if you max out the trophies. that adam and eve shyt is mind blowing. everything was incredible, especially the environments and all the visuals. and the slow deliberate style of gameplay made it feel realistic as hell. probably the most immersed ive ever been into a game

red dead redemption - perfect story and characters. perfect setting and environment. ill graphics. its hard for me to play a game based on the story, but i really cared to see it through. the gameplay was solid...so many different things to do. the gunplay felt really good.

honorable mention:
infamous, borderlands, mass effect
