Going to keep this short

A n*gga 22, 140lbs, 5'8 :mjlol:

I don't have a consistent diet, but am working on eating a lot more
I do smoke weed rather often but no ciggerettes
Don't drink often (MAYBE once a month, more in the warmer months)

What's the best way to go about gaining? Eat a shyt lot more calories and work out same time? WHAT?

Don't tell me my metabolism gon' have me in a headlock all my life..

Lots of protein and some hardcore carbs like yams and sweet potatoes is a good start. I'm 5'10 started at 140lbs (Nearly two years ago) and currently at 196lbs, just need to shred now and build bit more muscle in certain areas and i'm sorted :takedat:

That's close to where I'm at right now (5'9", 135)...where were you weight-wise after a year, and can you PM/post your workout plan + diet?

thanks in advance G...

After a year I was towards around 155-160, but had other commitments like college so kinda slowed down my progress. and well since I'm shredding its a complete different ball game for my diet but whatever tips you need I can give you advice, but its good to have bodybuilders who have their workouts on youtube so you can take bits and bobs and adapt it to your workouts breh

Did you go through a phase of simply eating more or did you eat more while keeping a training regime?

Eat more while sticking to training regime, depends on which workouts (legs and chest for me) I tend to eat a little more carbs because I would normally do big workouts for them.

Word, there's no way around it.

I just wanted to eat my way into some fat, then turn said fat into muscle mass

Now I gotta do two things at once :damn:

Thats one of the hardest things to do, gotta time that process properly before you gain unnecessary weight :shaq2:

You can do both easily. Lift and at your age and given your genetics, eat, eat eat. You should start seeing gains pretty quickly. All you need is a little evidence that what you are doing is working to get the confidence to go all out.
