After Being Cancelled In 2013, YOUNG JUSTICE Is Finally Returning For A Third Season

From CBM:

Fans of Young Justice have spent years campaigning to bring back the critically accalimed series, but despite having 25 million viewers across two seasons when it aired on Cartoon Network and a devoted fanbase that remains committed to it, a third season happening seemed damn near impossible. Well, think again! Warner Bros. Animation has officially announced that production on Young Justice has started back up, though there's currently no word on when or where it will end up being aired.

Apparently, season three will deliver, "new twists, turns and dangerous new threats for the team, but most importantly, the opportunity for fans to finally continue the adventures of some of their favorite Super Heroes." Praised for its animation style and long-form storytelling, Young Justice revolved around Nightwing, Robin, Aqualad, Kid Flash, Superboy, Miss Martian and a host of others as they set out to prove to their Justice League mentors that they had what it takes to be heroes.

The press release also confirmed that producers Brandon Vietti (Batman: Under the Red Hood, Superman: Doomsday) and Greg Weisman (Star Wars Rebels, Gargoyles) will be returning to the series.

It seems like the show's success on Netflix has played a role in this third season becoming a reality, though it's unclear whether or not that's where Young Justice is headed. If nothing else though, at least we know that we're going to end up getting some sort of resolution to that Wally West cliffhanger...

Talk I saw around that time had to do with merchandising. CW wanted something that would do better with kids.

:why: and they felt Young Justice wasn't good for the children?

I feel bad for all the children of today that have to grow up with these dumbed down, straight up idiotic cartoons that make no sense :snoop:

When I was growing up, we had cartoons that had storylines and deep intellectual stories. X-Men, Spiderman, BAS, and more. now they have Spongebob :scusthov:

To be fair, a show like Adventure Time probably produces more intellectually engaging and challenging material than the largely straight forward heroes versus enemies cartoons 90's and especially 80's kids grew up on.
