In America, it's becoming okay for people to change their gender entirely.

but now that I think about it...regardless of race, creed, or orientation, if someone outright said they wanted to change their ethnicity, they'd get faces from people from all walks of life.

to make my point more clear. Let's take some one famous like snookie who people assume is ethnically Italian but is really Hispanic. Now if Snooki started saying she was from the Congo and was really african a la Akeem the African dream no one would believe her.
