Let's face it, creativity wrestling is on a dry spot nowadays. WWE on some fukk shyt, indie promotions flippy shytting, and etc. It's about time to bring back feuds where wrestlers fought over a love interest or even have issues with a woman leading into a marriage:

Sure it can be wild corny to most knuckle dragging wrestling fans, but it's effective. The love story in wrestling brings out the vulnerable side of a rugged wrestler going against the grain. It also brings character and chemistry involving a heated feud with the love interest thus creating compelling television.

Finn Balor is about to be involved in a love angle.

It only works if it's real. Everyone turned on Dolph and Lana. I thought he should've slowly turned heel and abusive while Rusev was injured, and then Rusev should've returned to save her. They were already two beloved characters even way back then.

On the real, I really wanted this angle to be more since they actually cool beyond the camera. The fukkery levels would have been straight up marvelous. But yeah, sad times when you can't even get a compelling love story even in fukking wrestling of all things.

It could work with someone if it was done well... cheesy as it can be, people do get wrapped up in that shyt.

Different times for sure, but that Macho/Elizabeth shyt had people compelled like fukk for years. Heel treats woman wrong, turns face and treats her right, becomes insanely jealous when their friend gets too friendly with her, dumps her and picks up another woman, eventually the other woman does him dirty, they reunite... this shyt was like a 5 year long thing. Of course it wasn't written to happen that way from the start but people really CARED about them for some reason. Nowadays the crowds are a lot more jaded than back then of course, but they'll still throw themselves into a storyline if it connects, I think.

Maybe a woman can be the reason The New Day goes thru drama? Maybe Cena and Nikki is ruined on TV by him cheating on her with Alexa? Or Bryan and Brie are threatened by a meddling Mandy Rose? Who knows...

Exactly. As wrestling fans hate to admit it, this shyt is pretty much a male soap opera. Macho/Liz worked wonders because Macho was legit nuts to Liz so yeah, the moment they hook up after Macho was HOH with Sherri was just simply . Moments like that is why I loved professional wrestling. Just the feeling of emotion when Jake the Snake ruined the damn wedding because stuff. Beulah telling Raven that she's preggers with Dreamer's baby, and even Sting getting tricked by Medusa, only to get molly whopped by Rude. We need that type of TV right about now, especially with women and men being on some division shyt. James Brown said the shyt best:

It could’ve worked in a pre-social media era. Now that you can easily look up who female wrestlers are dating or married to and 90% of them are dating jobbers or Indy dudes if they’re even in the business.

Not sure if these wrestlers SO’s would be cool with them kissing up on each other, especially if the person is more famous.
