North Jersey but I miss Cali :sadcam:
It's better to have a veteran Head Coach if you're going to to use a high draft pick on a QB. RGIII has Mike Shannahan coaching him. Andy Dalton has Marvin Lewis who's been with the Bengals for a long time. Jim Harbaugh was relatively new to coaching but he obviously comes from a great coaching pedigree. Troy Aikman had Jimmy Johnson and even though JJ was a young NFL head coach, he was a Head Coach at a major college program. Even Russell Wilson has Pete Carroll.

Now there are always exceptions to the rule
but a Veteran head coach is better suited to develop a young QB. Cam has Ron Rivera :mjpls: who has never been a head coach before and not only are you asking him to turn around a team that was dreadful the previous year and lost their best defensive player but now you asking him to develop a Rookie QB with high expectations???? :mindblown:

I think it's far better to have an offensive HC when developing a QB in general.

I look at how Harbaugh has done so much for Smith who failed so miserably under Mike Nolan and Mike Singletary.

Look at Sanchez with Rex as the HC, Sanchez definitely has the physical ability, but his defensive minded HC hasn't helped him develop as a QB at all.

Then look at Cam with Rivera, defensive minded guy, once again not helping. Then look at RG3 with Shanahan.

If you got a young QB, get an offensive minded HC

Cam is playing for franchise that is inept..

If you draft a QB #1 overall then the head coach should be from the offensive side of the ball.

It's about stability. With a veteran Head Coach you know what you're getting.

A new coach is basically still finding themselves and trying to establish their style. Not a good mix with a Young QB.

Now.. some expections like a Matt Ryan come up but you have to look at the fact that Matt Ryan went to school for 4 years. Newton started one season of high level college ball. THe same with Mark Sanchez.

If you've looked at all the QB's who've been drafted #1 overall in the past 10 years... nearly all of them had defensive coaches

Palmer
Eli
Smith
Bradford
Carr
Stafford
Luck

Jamarcus is the only one who had an offensive minded coach who was his HC

Coughlin wasn't a defensive coach, so you're wrong on that one.

Probably the #1 thing people get wrong about him

Tom Coughlin is from the offensive side..

If the QB has a strong coordinator it’s not that bad.

At least with Luck and Stafford the coaches hired coordinators who are good coaches like Scott Linehan and Bruce Arians.

All the other QBs on your list are struggling right now.
