You have to name a movie/song/and TV show that captures the essence of black culture in each decade-can you do it?

80s seems like it can go the most difference since this was the last decade before the gangster element completely dominated blacc music and culture for atleast the next 17 years. So it just will depend on your perception

I’m not a big fan of the 80s either so that’s that as well

Here we go

Movie- Krush Groove

TV show - The Jeffersons?

Song- My adidas

90s. Every blacc persons favorite decade or atleast that’s what they claim on social media even tho most are just dicc riding

This decade can probably be broken up from the first half to the second half feel free to do that if you wish. Matter fact I’ll do it myself

Early 90s
Movie- Boyz n The Hood or Clockers. Even tie
TV show- Martin or Fresh Prince. This is a very hard choice. Ima give it to Martin simply because the average black person was not rich
Song- This is How We Do It ? It came out in 95 but I feel like it still captures a lot of early 90s vibe

80's

Movie-Harlem Nights. I would've said Colors but people would've had a problem with that lol

80s were kinda dry for black films until Spike and Robert Townsend came along

Show-The Cosby Show

Song-Fight The Power

You know. I really wanted to include house party. I think of all the movies it might be one of the strongest time capsules we have ever created. The problem is do you throw it in the 80s or the 90s? It came out in 90 but the vibe was definitely more 80s

Do The Right Thing is a good option too
