They are acting like NPCs on TikTok. What they are doing are “emotes”. Basically animations of taunts or sayings that usually a player would be able to perform in a video game. They go on live and ppl pay them in digital “gifts” (which is actual money) so their comment can be seen and the host of the live does whatever emote they want them to do
