I used to take that shyt 100% for granted... its not just the blockbusters, but the most well regarded films in American history.... Godfather, Pulp Fiction Goodfellas, Apocalypse Now, etc.
Last night I got high, and watched some clips of the illest foreign directors, just to peep game... Then I got Goodfellas in the mix, and that shyt killed my high
Like we really take this shyt for granted... Try showing Goodfellas to someone who's never seen an American film before, and tell them "Yeah, this is an example of cinema in its highest form. Bodies, on bodies on bodies... This dude over here is a sociopath who guns down busboys... On the left we got a man with borderline personality disorder "
Don't get me wrong, I consider Coppola, Scorcese, Tarantino and Kubrick some of the greatest directors ever.. But they have an insane, capitalistic approach to film
You watch their work and you say "Yeah, this is a product of our culture"
Oh, and on another note... Paul was up in Henry's girl the whole film (1:40)
