There used to be all these Italian actors that would get steady work, mostly because of mafia movies or mafia tv shows.
Pretty much the entire cast of the Sopranos has been irrelevant once the show ended.
What did Joe Pesci, Paul Sorvino or Frank Vincent ever really do after Goodfellas/Casino? (granted, Sorvino was old but he was in gangster movies in the 70s too)
Who are the obvious exceptions? De Niro and Pacino. That's pretty much it.
Even Armand Assante, who did that tv version of Gotti...faded into nothing until he briefly popped up on people's radars to play a mobster in American Gangster.
So a crime syndicate gets taken down by the government, and suddenly your cultural impact is reduced to fist bumping on the Jersey Shore?
Seems sad.
