When
The Arsenio Hall Show was cancelled in 1994, Hall’s friend Queen Latifah asked if she could produce a segment for the final show. When he asked what she wanted to do, Hall recalls: “She said, ‘I can’t tell you. I just need you to hook me up with one of your producers. Let me do this and stay out of it,'” according to his
interview with VladTV.
She brought together a memorable group of rappers, dubbed the Hip-Hop All-Stars, to give Arsenio a bit of a tribute for supporting the movement through the years.
Some are true freestyles and some are canned raps, but the group is an impressive bunch, going off over
Bob James’s “Nautilus,” no less.
In order of appearance: Yo-Yo, MC Lyte, Naughty by Nature, A Tribe Called Quest, Fu-Schnickens, CL Smooth, Guru from Gang Starr, Das EFX, GZA flanked by Wu-Tang Clan, KRS-One, Mad Lion.
