Yankees Not Winning the W.S. in 2001

to me is one of the all time biggest disappointments in sports...

few weeks after 9/11, the whole nation for the first time actually rooting for the Yankees, and then BAM! they choke

The day I stopped fukking with baseball hardbody, the stars were aligned for the Yanks, and it was much more than a championship, with the whole world rooting them on and they choked, I still can't believe that shyt

They didn't choke, that would mean that they had the lead to begin with.

That world series was the best that I have ever seen.

As a New Yorker it was disappointment when they didn't win, but it was an afterthought as it helped us to begin to heal. It took seven games and the games in NY were classics. So much drama involved that it kept us from thinking about the attacks.

The only game that sucked was game 6 as it was not entertaining seeing Andy get shelled (turned out Andy was tipping his pitches)

Kellerman (a Yankee Stan) bought up a point in saying that he thinks the yanks (Jeter & Mariano) subconsciously blew game 7 and didn't want to go through the march of champions due to the fact that they would have to complete the championship parade and since it was immediately after 9/11 no one who want to go to a place where 1000s of people were together in a small open area which is right by the original WTC.
