After the way Punk did the J-O-B these past 2 months to Rock and probably will again if he faces Taker at WM aint no way in hell Austin would come back out of retirement for that lil scrub ass midcarder. Win or lose he has nothing to gain against punk now.

It'd be like Floyd fighting Manny after he got his ass knocked out

True cuz it would be a let down if Austin came back & lost to Punk while it would continue to minimalize Punk should Austin win.

There's no added legs to this fued w/o the belt involved

If Austin wouldn't do the job it would defeat the whole purpose of doing the match to me. No one would want to see Austin lose his final match, but if he wins it would hurt Punk's career deeply. It wouldn't be a good look for two stars from the 90's and early 200's to beat a current star from the 2010's.

He does deserve the win if the E is serious about pushing him to the next level. But like i stated before, i don't think Austin would come back to lose to anyone. He already lost to Rock his last match.

Austin's return match to Mania shouldn't be a loss...it's a fan demanded thing. And what's up with this "great for his career" thing? I doubt Punk cares about who wins or loses..it's the angle and build up and delivering on the match he'll rant about.

Austin return depends on the money Cokeboy offers him and guaranteeing him that he's gonna be in the most promoted match.

He ain't coming back if he doesn't get the Rock treatment :manny:

Yep. Specially if it's against his idol.

Btw, I don't think Austin would have much problems putting Punk over if they let him handle the feud and match the way he wants to.

yep and punk is never gonna reach that level, he would've by now if he was

that said, i'm not interested in seeing this match at all, austin himself basically shyt on punk:

"Maybe Punk’s not the guy to go against. He needs to pick up his intensity. We’ll have to see what I do, I’m happy now doing what I am. In a perfect world, where I could step back into the ring for one last match I would be willing to have that discussion with management. I do miss the business and working a live crowd, going out there and wrestling your hearts out."

At this point, who would want it? I was interested a year, two years ago... Now I don't care. :manny: I agree jobbing to Rock twice already would minimize the impact of a Austin/Punk "dream match". Unless Punk really got on a hot streak again. I don't see that happening though. I think 2013 is going to be yet another Year of Cena.

You guys are putting way too much weight on this losses to The Rock.

The only thing Punk needs it's a couple of months off. Then a couple of vicious promos and start a winning streak in July-August or take out a couple of names. Then by December he's gonna be established again. He's not a lost cause.

It's like people can't imagine Austin working with anyone unless they are Rock/Cena/Taker status in the company. I don't see it that way at all.

That was when he as a bland face. Austin's talking about Punk's character, if they are gonna feud he wants it to be against a guy who doesn't give a fukk and will at least try to match his intensity.

Their interviews for WWE13 are a worst indication of Stone GOAT being iffy about working with Punk than that quote. Punk was shook as fukk while Austin was all :birdman:

He's never talked about a match against Cena. He turned down Hogan. And I highly doubt he's willing to risk his well being against Brock unless Cokeboy offers him like 5 million

He's said multiple times that Punk is the only guy he would be willing to come back against. He just wants Punk to be ruthless because that's were Austin excels at.

Casual viewers are gonna buy Wrestlemania because it's Wrestlemania. They are guaranteed at least 800,000 buyers just off that. Austin returning after all these years and having the feud he wants to have it's gonna do 1-1.1 million EASILY.

Punk is not a big star at all, but he's been 1B to Cena's 1a for 2 years now. He's SOMEBODY to casual fans. It's like you guys think people see him as Jack Swagger or something . A match vs Austin will bring tons of money, I can't believe people doubt that.
