People are fukking sleepwalking through the shyt that's really going on in this country. We are all guilty to some extent by focusing so much on the day to day political drama, trump/impeachment etc.

But the GOP is now essentially and UNDENIABLY a fifth column. There is literally NOTHING that cannot be easily justified/excused if it leads to their gaining or retaining power. The election was an inflection point and they've made the ultimate decision that armed conflict is not only preferable, BUT INEVITABLE. And to be honest, historically speaking they are not wrong. White nationalists/racists etc do not have a history of just giving up power without a fight. If they do it's only b/c there is literally no other option. South Africa happened b/c they were isolated internationally, b/c they were huge minority by numbers and b/c they still owned disproportionate % of SA economy etc, so they didn't really lose much. Brits gave up Hong Kong b/c China would not be denied. Racist white folks are not about to stand by and watch their electoral/political dominance waste away. They're packing the courts so they will still retain a lot of power but I would say w/n a generation and a half, once their numbers start dwindling even more that you're going to see sustained violence in this country.
