Once I read he had brain trauma from a car wreck, I wasn't surprised by how the story progressed from there. Everyone knows about the effects of CTE as it relates to sports but a lot of violent tendencies and severe mood shifts have been linked to traumatic brain injury. Not having sympathy for this guy at all and he is a piece of shyt but you combine that with his girl committing suicide and then linking up with these folks in the military, he was primed to this crazy shyt.

The article is interesting because there does seem to be this weird amalgamation happening between anti-government individuals, white supremacists, and just chaos agents who are in some ways working together but in other ways completely segmented. Very reminiscent of how Islamic terrorist cells function. Decentralized but they are all connected through one ideology with nuances of differences. Anti-government and desire for psychopathic chaos seem to be the common thread.

I treat CTE as a type of neurological, the inhibits Cognitive Thinking. Where your brain is easily triggered by stuff, you don't think clearly. So people are more prone to paranoia, anger. Then on impulse they get into murder-suicide scenarios, because they do an action, and then at the same time understand for a second what they did, but then kill themselves because of that lack of impulse control.
