It's like most of the black actresses get on at later ages than anyone else. They got a 45 year old Regina Hall on Blackish as if she's in her 20s.

For real interesting topic. I dont think I really thought about it -- even with Rachel True and Stacey Dash in the 90s -- until Anchorman 2. Breast cancer doesnt explain how much older Christina Applegate looked. Or ALL the white women.

Meanwhile Megan Good... looked good in a thankless role.

I don't think that they "get on" at later stages.

I think it's actually that (for the most part) it feels like the "Black Hollywood" community picked their actors in the 90s and haven't moved on or drafted new ones since.

It's been the same group of about 15-20 women and men (Hall, Lathan, Ellis Ross, Union, Nia Long, Chestnut, Ealy, Underwood etc.) and kinda like Apatow has his people, they just stuck together and whenever someone gets a little money to put something together, they pick from that crew and ride out.

It's a part of the reason why a lot of that shyt is stale - same actors portraying for the most part the same character archetypes.

Exactly. Only comic book movies are breaking in younger actors now. Seeing the same older actors in the same roles is :beli: . Although black don't crack, I want to see younger black women.

yeah Christina Applegate has aged oddly..like she's still attractive but you can tell something is off..and i def noticed it before she was diagnosed with cancer.
