As it turns out, Xbox World apparently knows quite a bit about Microsoft‘s next console, with CVG listing some of the details. “Xbox World has been at the cutting edge of Durango coverage for over 12 months,” Editor-in-Chief Dan Dawkins told CVG “Unless something really dramatic changes, everything we reveal in our penultimate issue will be revealed long before E3 in June.” For starters, the eight page write-up suggests Microsoft will simply call its next console “Xbox” without anything else in the name.

We have a hard time believing that since Microsoft’s first console was named Xbox, and naming another console Xbox would probably lead to some confusion. What we don’t have a problem believing, however, are the reported specs of the console. According to Xbox World, the next Xbox will introduce us all to Kinect 2.0 and support Blu-Ray discs while making use of 8GB of RAM and a CPU that features “four hardware cores, each divided into four logical cores.”

So there you have it – the next Xbox should be packing some sexy hardware when it eventually arrives. Now we’re left to wonder when Microsoft will reveal the console. With Dawkins saying that everything will be announced “long before E3 in June,” we’d be tempted to believe that Microsoft will pull the veil back at CES 2013, but with Microsoft giving the show the cold shoulder, that definitely isn’t going to happen. The console will supposedly also come with a TV input, so you can watch television on it, assuming you’re not already doing so via the myriad available apps like Hulu, Netflix, HBO Go, etc. As for the next Kinect, or Kinect 2.0 as it’s being referred to now, that could be so accurate that it can read your lips. I have trouble getting my Kinect to recognize an entire limb, so I’ll believe that when I see it.

The mockups, which you can feast your eyes on below, were created by Xbox World to give us an idea of what the console could look like. “We built ours with the same glossy face and patented VapourMG magnesium alloy Microsoft uses for its Surface tablet, and modeled the silver band after its new ‘Wedge’ touch keyboard and flexible Arc Touch mouse,” wrote Xbox World. “The future will be black, sharp and curved.”

they had no choice.....

the only one I cop this exclusively is if the ps4 comes in not as strong as this.

Sony's first party games is the tiebraker for me over the xbox.

My old lady will prob cop this for me if I ask though...:win:

Just give a nikka a new Bloody Roar Game in Next Gen Graphics, Rare bless and feed us with a Killer Instinct Next Gen :sadbron: and Dead or Alive VS Tekken Combo..Then give us a Call of Duty MMO with over 1000 people in a WORLDWAR..and I will :salute: and honor this as NEXT GEN GAMING..p.s fukk TV ..but 8gig RAM mmmm tasty

Also kill the Crackdown series or re-INVENT the IP, and make it REALLY about CRACK..lol Xbox needs new IP's ..Gears of War is the shyt but I wont newer unique games.. better give us a Headset with Eyeglasses and put us INSIDE THE DISCdream
