How the fukk do you nikkas know whether the crowd is booing someone because they really suck at what they do or because they want to to go away. If the crowd doesn't give a damn about a wrestler, they'll be getting the Ziggler or Del Rio treatment, which is silence.

And you can't bring up ratings because people flip the channels if it was an over face also. So unless, one of you can prove to me that there is an X Pac heat, we need to put this to sleep.

I never understood this either. X-Pac was always very over with the crowd, whether it be as a face or heel.

If people legitimately hate the person that can always be used to get heat if you run a good angle. If XPac is getting those type of chants because "they hate the person" the crowd is still going to pop when a wrestler they like beats him up, in the end it's still the same as normal heat.

When Cena was unbeatable and smarks REALLY hated him (moreso than now) they would be more into his opponents almost beating him. XPac heat isn't real, TS is right, when the crowd doesn't want to see you they just don't respond.

X-Pac heat is a smark term, and smarks are always analysing business from the perspective of whether something/someone is going to draw money. That is, after all, the whole purpose. Vince/the superstars are only trying to entertain the crowd/viewers in order to earn money.

You might pop if Brock Lesnar kicks the fukk out of someone who has what is considered 'X-Pac heat' but the theory is that people are so bored/apathetic towards this wrestler that they won't PAY to see them on PPV or live.

Cena never really had X-Pac heat, because no matter how many people didn't like him, there was still a huge percentage of the audience (albeit women and children) who would pay to see him/buy his merch, basically = draw $$$$

I'm not saying XPac drew money at this time with his heat. If they really hate the guy as a person or think he's talentless and don't want to see him, they shouldn't be popping for them getting beat down... it's fake. If fans would be more into and pop louder for a face beating up XPac than Dolph Ziggler, that's real heat. They might hate him more than Ziggler and pop louder because they think Sean Waltman is really a bad person or a scumbag or talentless or whatever, but as far as its function in wrestling it's still real heat if that happens.

They booed him when he was a face, he was the only wwe guy to get a negative reaction at the Invasion ppv.

They're not popping/booing because the guy has done an incredible job of turning the crowd against him using psychology/promos/character.... they're booing because he seriously sucks.

There's two types of heat:

- genuine heat, which is the intention of the worker
- the crowd expressing displeasure at someone's lack of skills

It's like... if you botch several spots, and the crowd boo (and you're a heel) that is not an example of you doing your job well.

It's legit. No one paid money to see a guy like Mason Ryan get pushed. Ryback getting Goldberg chants is a spit in the face of creative. Steiner/Cripple H getting Boring chants is NOT a good thing....Change the Channel chants at Batista/Big Show at Hammerstein was not good for ANYBODY....Cena getting Die Cena Die chants in NY against RVD? That wasn't what they wanted. Guaranteed.

Vickie Guerrero is the perfect example of someone that gets X-Pac heat or go-away heat.
