Do you really need a "cool down buffer" between two big matches?

Yes. Especially when the main event is guaranteed to suck. I'm sure lazy stuffs like orton and mahal prefer to follow up Luke and Rowan instead of AJ styles so they can place blame elsewhere

Thats not a good reasoning for it and I would still argue if the crowd is still hyped from the previous match it helps boost the main event as people wanna see more good stuff

I've always preferred the crushindo theory of booking to the perfect show theory. I think longer shows you definitely have to place big matches throughout it. But for run of the mill 2hr-3hr shows you can get away with building to a climax.

But wrestling booking/psychology is amazing because there mutiple ways to achieve the goal of hooking the fan to the product. I recommend every fan check out the Guest Booker series cause most episodes have something that you can take from it when it comes to wrestling psychology/booking.
