WWE fan terrified to admit publicly he still doesn’t really care for women’s wrestling

Braden Larson admires the hard-working women of WWE, but still strongly prefers men’s matches — a preference that many believe makes him a sexist pig.
Although he thinks the elevated profile of women’s wrestling in WWE is “a positive reflection of shifting social norms,” 27-year-old Braden Larson of Cleveland fears a harsh backlash if he openly states that he still doesn’t particularly care for women’s matches.

“I mean, I think it’s nice that the women are getting their own pay-per-view and everything, but it just doesn’t really appeal to my personal tastes,” Larson said. “I said that on Twitter, and a bunch of people called me a misogynist.”

Larson holds a number of opinions about women’s wrestling, which he believes are based in common sense, but have sparked heated backlash in online forums.

Among his most controversial opinions:

  • “I find men’s matches typically more exciting and hard-hitting, by virtue of their larger physiques and power-based move-sets.”
  • “The announcement of Evolution was interesting, but calling it ‘historic’ seems like hyperbole. I mean, it’s still just silly pro wrestling, not a significant geopolitical event.”
  • “I grew up watching predominantly men’s wrestling, so perhaps my preference for men’s matches is based partly on nostalgia.”
  • “Rather than giving women their own pay-per-view, wouldn’t it be more progressive and egalitarian to give them equal screen-time on normal pay-per-views, thereby not segregating talent into different modalities based on gender — which, when you think about it, is actually contrary to the concept of equality?”
After expressing such comments in an online wrestling forum, Larson was accused of hate speech and banned from posting.

found this interesting because i feel the same way. I only want them to have their own show and ppv to separate them just like the NBA is separate from the WNBA

shyt reads like an Onion article
That's what Kayfabe News is: a wrestling version of The Onion.

Also, the premise of the article is flawed because most people still prefer men's matches. Don't believe me? Check the yearly "Top Ten best matches" lists or who gets the most buzz on the indies or even in WWE. Mostly dudes. Hell, many will proudly proclaim their love of NJPW which doesn't even have a women's division.

The only thing that's annoying about Evolution is the E puffing their chest and acting like they're so progressive when, if you look at the whole of the industry and how women's wrestling is treated across the board, they somewhat behind the curve.

Somewhat behind the curve is being generous. Women were putting in work in TNA, Japan etc... way before Steph decided to hop on the bandwagon.

That last thing he said reminds me of what Knuckles said on Sonic Boom about gender equality. :russ:

But it looks like what everyone was saying here about the Women's Revolution was true. They can say that there's a revolution, give the women main events and their own PPV, but if you're not booking them properly, none of that matters. :manny:

It's not that I don't care. It's that Vince & Co. are so inauthentic in their approach, with the shameless pandering and grandstanding like they're really doing something that's groundbreaking and never been done before when in reality, they're still miles behind the curb and only NOW taking baby steps to correct the problem. TNA had all female PPVs this decade and you've got female exclusive promotions that already do it bigger and better.

I thought that shyt was real for a minute. Dudes be trying too hard to put over the women's revolution be on here saying the women have had better matches and feuds than the men then when I asked y'all can't name one.:stopitslime:

Unless you enjoyed Sasha and Charlotte trading the belt back and fourth the last good women's feud I can remember was Nikki Cross vs Asuka and that was in NXT. It is safe to criticize women's wrestling believe it or not female fans don't blindly support WWE. I've looked over a majority women wrestling forum and the consensus is.

They probably gonna fukk it up anyway
