Wrestling styles might have changed and evolved over the years but booking fundementals don't. The things that make a good angle or face or heel are the same shyt that worked in the 80s and before.

Last night's AEW show was a good example of that. I'm not even one of these AEW stans. There's things I don't like about their product but a lot of their booking is just common sense shyt. And a lot of it's predictable but the thing is wrestling should be predictable. That's the trait of logical storytelling.

This is why WWE booking is so weird to me. They overthink EVERYTHING. Even when they give the fans what they want, they have to string them along and pull them in a million different directions. This shyt shouldn't be so hard. But it's like WWE/Vince is purposely antagonistic to their fans. I can barely think of anything comparable in media or art.

I wonder how many “wrestling” minds they have in creative as opposed to Hollywood/people outside the business. :jbhmm:

You have to bear in mind that they're essentially handing over the book to the Saudi Royal Family twice a year for shows that don't exist in the main timeline, which is baffling in itself.

I heard that they didn't run a single previously advertised match last week. How are people meant to invest when they do things like that?

Vince dislikes wrestling fans, but he loves money, and he keeps on getting more money, so as far as he's concerned the equation is working perfectly. :manny:

Over emphasis on the word “Creative”

No matter what you want to call it: pro wrestling, sports entertainment, it’s athletic theater. Just give the people what they want and do your extra stuff to make sure it all makes sense for long term business

It's storytelling but at the end of the day, you sell matches. No one cares about work rate if they're not emotionally involved.

This guy has to cheat so people hate him cause they love the other guy. That's it bruh. That's how easy it is. After that it's character work or storytelling that carries it.

Peep this:

The whole thing happened in one night and like 20 minutes total, but what a story did it tell.

They don't overthink..they're just greedy. They KNEW the fans wanted Sasha over Charlotte. They KNEW Nexus should of went over. They knew Shelton going on a losing streak would kill his reactions. They know.
