One of my students got caught with a pocket knife in her jacket. My principal is talking about suspending her. She only carried for safety purposes but obviously it's against the rules.

If you had a daughter WHO HAD to ride the bus. You can't afford Uber everyday and you have to be at work early. Would you tell her to carry a weapon and don't get caught? At my old school they would take them and give them back at the end of the day.

No. Most public transport is pretty safe. I would be more worried what happens when she gets off the bus.
