I just helped out someone here on Coli, but I realized I learned so much about the industry from working in the industry for a few years, that I might aswell put a short e-book together with contacts and tips. A real guide to getting into the industry and selling for like $10. Would you buy?

Do you want to work in the music industry?
No. I should have added that. But you know, sometimes, people would want to get a book even if they didn't want to go in. In my case, I don't want to go in the music business and I am not interested in a book of that nature. I will say this, I have been a musician for over 25 years. Not a pro, just an amateur.

Put it together and find out :manny:, it's not like it's going to cost anything. If you make it, look to get some affiliate marketers to advertise it for you (wouldnt have to pay them directly, give them a cut per sale)

i think the market for this type of book is pretty small. plus i've seen those types of "guides" before, by dudes that are probably a lot more experienced (way more than a "few years") than you are. but if you're comfortable competing in that niche, go for it.

If you find a target audience you'll be fine. There are a lot of people that want to get into the music business.

reading and buying books about wanting to get into the music business and politics is a waste of time. the best way to get in has always been to muscle your way in.

the only reason to read books is to know who to who's who and how to deal with them.

OK. Check Amazon and see if there is already a book on that same topic. It would pointless to write a book that is already out there with similar content. If I wrote a book where this boy grows up and fights this bad guy who turns out to be his father, I mean, people are going to say, "That's the Star Wars story."

If I was trying to sell a book I would take a couple years to build a blog on that topic, get a following...

Don't think of the book as your product, think of your "draw" as an expert that's the product. The book, and other stuff you put out is just a channel through which to express yourself and create business growth
