Would Vito have had Fredo killed if he was in the same situation as Michael in The Godfather Part II

Never. He didn't even have it in him to take out Carlo bytch ass.

It works the other way around too though, Fredo would never have gone against Vito or even Sonny. Him seeing Michael as his kid brother played a huge part in his frustrations and eventual betrayal.

do you think Vito would of done the same thing?
Of course not. But Fredo would never had betrayed him either. The whole point of 2 is that Michael never understood what his father really was and why it was important. Michael grew up resenting his family and his family's culture and never really understood it.

Michael never put his family before himself. Everything thing Vito did was for his family. Michael is nowhere near the man his dad was.

The conflict Fredo had with the family was based on being the older dumb brother who got sidelined for being incompetent.

Vito put Fredo on and it almost got him murked

It’s funny because in the book, Vito Fredo was supposed to be like Sonny until Vito got shot.

Fredo just needed a few good slaps then a hug.

Michael was lowkey moving dumb the way he alienated his close ones in godfather 2.
