We know the govt and these corporations are somewhat in bed together.

If small businesses go under, then all these reallly smart, bright, creative, highly talented people go to work for the big corporations and operate under their thumb and give all their gifts and talents to "the company", until of course they are sucked dry of ambition. They might be able to display a bit of their talent to hep the business, but never enough to really do anything too big, and of course someone else in charge will get the mjaority of the credit; and their salary will never be enough for them to quit or it may be just enough to keep them there satisfied. . A few may rise up and become big players in the company, BUT never enough to branch out on their own and create something or start a service that would put corporations in jeapordy.

the government doesnt want massive economic failure, it tends to get people thrown out of office, and can destabilize the country.

i'm also gonna go out on a limb and say that the type of people who are worth some kind of massive collusion in order to be acquired are probably already partnering with somebody-be it a university, venture capitalist, or large company-because they know that large ambitious things tend to need large capital to come to fruition. the same way zuckerberg strikes a deal with that napster guy. you need major cash to scale up, and the type of people you are talking about arent likely to be able to accomplish much on a smudget budget anyway.

the only people who really fit in your scenario are mid-tier employees with an inflated sense of self worth. they cant actually accomplish anything on their own, but feel too good for the job they have. that's a sad, passive-aggressive lifestyle. that's the career equivalent of nice guy syndrome.

Ehh, alot of people who do or don't have an inflated self worth feel they are too good for their job. ONly they know if they're right. Some people make it on their own and some dont.

But yeah, of course the facebook or myspace and twitter guys are a different animal. Difference is, corporations see a way to be able to use them/their product to their advantage.
So in a sense, it still kinda goes back to them working for the corporations. :manny:
