Would bringing in the cruiserweight division help or hurt things?

Now as some of you already know, the only reason I started watching WCW again was due to the cruiser-weight division, I actually begged my parents (which they declined) to let me order Starrcade '96 for Malenko/Dragon.

In the WWE the "light heavyweight" division has had it's ups and downs, but has never had any break out stars push it to the next level to give it that same respect other titles hold (or once held...). Only Rey, Eddie, Jericho (CW) and Christian (LHW) have gone on to hold a major title.

However, times change, people change, and crowds are easier to except smaller guys as TOP superstars thanks to the hard work of guys like Rey and dem

But

Now that they've gotten acceptance as being legitimate WWE or World Heavyweight Champions, would it be taking a step BACK to create a cruiser-weight division designed specifically for smaller guys who may someday be breakout superstars or would it enhance the overall product with faster paced matches and spotlight talent for little guys with no mic game (Tyson Kidd/Sin Cara) yet keep them relegated to just being a "small guy". Also with the E's history of burying the division with the likes of Gillberg and Hornswoggle, is their fear of a lack of legitimacy for the division?

Speak on it :ohhh:

Uncertain grounds
they dont have the creative writing ability to do it plus vince is still obsessed with his big muscle guys..maybe a year or two into trips' full reign but not now..i dont want to be inundated with primo and epico matches tbh

I think it'd be a big step backwards. I like the idea of a WWE freestyle division. an almost watered down x division staring tyson kidd pac sin cara cesaro etc. no weight limits.

I just feel that they would push someone like Bryan as a light heavyweight and then he wouldn't be seen as a real threat to the WWE title. But Evan Bourne Kofi Kingston Sin Cara Hunico Justin Gabriel and Tyson Kidd would be a good start if they decided to do it. But they should just get the midcard titles right and keep those guys in that scene.

It would only be a matter of time before Ryback or Kaitlyn would be walking around with that title. They just can't help themselves when it comes to certain things
