Would 15MB on FIOS be faster then 50MB on Roadrunner?

i wanna know if i get FiOS, do you really get 15MB all the time since you're on your own fiber network? I got Roadrunner with 50MB plus turbo but i barely even hit 2 MB/s with a premium account on some sites like ryushare and rapidshare...You think my speed would be the same with FiOS? Also Roadrunner be slow sometimes...

First of all you need to understand something.

there is a difference in MB's and Mb's

MB=Megabyte, Mb=Megabit

What u get from a cable company is always measured in Mb's or megabits per second.

When u download u usually see Kilobytes per second or more commonly if u have a faster connection megabytes per second

If ur 50 megabit per second line is going at max capacity its ony 6 MB's(megabytes) per second, so if ur getting 2 from these sites its not that bad...

As long as you dont have MB and Mb mixed its obvious. Even if you sharing a line on cable your speeds dont drop from 50 to 15.

Let me add to this. It will not increase your speed that is being capped at the other end. For example if the server you are downloading from only pass data at 2 MB/sec that will be the max speed you can download at no matter how much faster your ISP is.
