What does OnlyFans and the NBA have in common? Money - and lots of it.
Well, a statistic has been released that just may shock the world.
OnlyFans content creators made well over a billion dollars more than some elite basketball players, showing just how lucrative a career selling explicit videos can be.
We'll get into just how much each made in 2023, or for the NBA it was the 2023/24 season, later - but for now, to put things into perspective, Stephen Curry was the highest paid basketball player earning a salary of $51,915,615 last season, according to ESPN.

Golden State Warriors may just know the league is under threat of being embarrassed (I use this term very loosely) by OnlyFans, and so have reportedly raised their point guard's annual takings to $55,761,216.
Last season, LeBron James earned a staggering $47,607,350 taking home the third highest earnings, behind the Phoenix Suns power forward Kevin Durant on $47,649,433.
So, how can OnlyFans earn more than these stars?
Well, simply because there are more content creators than NBA players.

Basketball Forever found that in 2023, OnlyFans creators all in all earned a whopping $6.6 billion compared to the $4.9 billion earned by NBA players.
That's $1.7 billion more.
We all know how much money OnlyFans can bring in for its creators - according to Medium, former Disney star Bella Thorne is estimated to earns a whopping $11 million a month on the platform, which would see her top the list of NBA earners.
And as for the less-famous creators, such as Bonnie Blue, she revealed how she made $250,000 in 21 days when she challenged herself to sleep with 122 'college students' during Spring Break.

Taking to Twitter to react to the announcement, one person hilariously wrote: "Doesn't surprise me. I'd rather watch p**n than basketball."
While another said: "2.1 million content creators on onlyfans. 600 players in the NBA if you count them carrying 20 players (off season only) instead of 18."
It's fair to say NBA fans got pretty defensive of the comparison.

Another took to the social media platform to defend the sport, they typed: "That's an average of $9,800,000 per player in the NBS compared to $2,952 per content creator on onlyfans."
While one joked: "0% of those OF creators can beat even 1 NBA player on basketball."
Okay, but could LeBron James do what Bella Thorne does?
Anyone can make an infographic that says whatever they want. That doesn't necessarily mean it's true.
