There are several teams who are expected have interest in a Kevin Durant trade this offseason as the Phoenix Suns will likely work together on his exit. The Suns have had a disappointing pair of seasons since adding Bradley Beal to their star core of Durant and Devin Booker.

While the Golden State Warriors were among the most notable teams to pursue a trade for Durant at the deadline, there was a number of other teams with interest that might be more mutual in the Minnesota Timberwolves, Miami Heat, New York Knicks, San Antonio Spurs and Houston Rockets, reports Shams Charania.

"Back at the NBA trade deadline in February, Minnesota, Miami, New York, San Antonio and Houston were among the team, I'm told, there was mutual interest between Durant and those teams," said Charania. "I expect those teams and potentially other to be back in the fray this summer."

Durant will be eligible for a two-year, $120 million extension this coming offseason. Durant is on an expiring contract and will be have at least some modicum of control over the process.

the spurs are intriguing. they have the cap room to absorb him without having to send matching salary back which has the added benefit for phoenix of getting below the 2nd apron. i saw a story on yahoo speculating 3 players and 3 picks. i dont think it should cost nearly that much. with you helping the suns get out of cap hell you shouldnt have to give up more than 3 assets, 4 absolute max.

i dont know if houston is ready to move on from vanvleet but they can put themselves in a similar position to the spurs. renounce fvv and that pretty much gives them the cap room to absorb durant in a trade. then once against its just about the assets, 3 or 4. if it ends up costing more assets than that i'll be shocked though if its a bidding war its possible. memphis and detroit are another couple teams that can put themselves in a similar position to the rockets and spurs.

i want to see durant end up in a place with an all star level big. it may not end up working out but its the move i would have made when he asked out of brooklyn. when things turned sour in brooklyn he essentially asked to be put in the same position in phoenix.
