Absolutely hated the way that trash Hellwig won the match. The way Savage got pinned looks like how a jobber gets squashed by Ryback. But the ending with Randy/Liz saved it. RIP to both.

how old were dudes where finishes to the matches bothered them?

I didn't care how either of those matches ended when I was a kid...and I really have a tough time going back on some "now that I think about it..." shyt now. Woyah/Savage, Savage/Hogan great at the time, great today.

I was too young to care about shyt like that back then. I was just happy to see my 3 favorites at the time.

:russ: Right...

I wish I woulda been 10 years old thinkin'... "Warrior put his foot on his chest, that's a burial to Savage, why not a rollup so he doesn't look weak". Come on now, there's no way you were a kid and gave a shyt. I'm an adult and I still don't give a shyt half the time. A win's a win, a loss is a loss, and the shyt's not real anyway, so...:wtb:

It seemed like even Monsoon and Heenan were caught off guard when the match ended, almost like they were expecting it go on for a few more minutes or something. At the time I was just mad that Savage lost but looking back over years, I just hated how it ended. He kicks out of Warriors Gorilla Press/Splash finisher but gets pinned after a few flying shoulder blocks? And worse than that, Warrior didn't even pin him, he just put his boot on his chest. I mean damn, would it have killed the Warrior to cover him and hook a leg? It was one of the best matches with one of the worst finishes, IMO.

The Savage/Liz shyt at end makes everyone forget about it to. :to:

:childplease: Mannnnn, don't nobody give a damn... at the time it was Savage's "retirement" match and he was putting over the #2 face in the company. On top of that, Savage was the heel who'd been getting the upper hand on the Warrior numerous times, him getting beat down and stepped on in the end is how a heel in that time woulda gotten his due. How he got pinned means jackshyt. This is smark shyt.

How bout next, we talk about how Hogan slamming Andre was a burial to all the other wrestlers who couldn't do it?

I admit I'm a Savage mark since I was a kid but you gotta admit the finish was anti-climatic and pretty fukking lame for a match of that caliber. It deserved better, IMO.

I guess the three shoulderblocks woulda been better had Warrior did his usual finisher to top everything off... but after a match like that, hey...

Then you add Sherri turning on Savage and the crowd immediately feeling sympathy for him, only to have Liz show up and throw her out (which I think was the most physical thing she'd done at that point)... and of course the reunion of her and Savage... :lawd:

When you think about it, the match and the following shenanigans did a lot more for Savage than it did the Warrior. I think that whole thing was perfect. Even the finish.
