Game Informer was post internet age and never got close to the success of heyday mags. In fact, that shyt was free. You had to pay at first, then they just started giving them away.
You was probably too young to understand. There was no internet buddy
So the ONLY way to find out about gaming news was to read a mag
By the time Game Informer dropped, I most likely already read about it online months in advance
