People don't take well to change very quickly. Personally I like it but I can see some people not feeling it.

Tried installing the release that dropped a few weeks weeks ago but it kept giving me annoying screen flashes on my hp mini 311 even with driver updates so I didnt even bother installing on my big rig.

I'll wait for the retail ISOs to make their rounds

Not gonna jump on it right away. I'll probably wait a few months for them to work the kinks out.

rule of thumb wait for the first service pack to drop before you jump on it in general, but especially if you use your computer for anything other then web browsing, listening to music, watching streams or word processing endeavors

Microsoft usually pushes out patches and fixes on the regular so by the time SP1 is out most people will already have the most stable product.

I can't speak for Enterprise because that's not what I use for but for home use it's better than W7 to me.

it might be because of Vista but when Windows 7 came out i installed it and never looked back never really wanted to. i thought Vista was ok cause my system specs were decent enough to run it properly.

it just seemed to me like most people loved Windows 7 from day one. i guess 8 went too far away from the norm.

I never understood the Vista hate. It had a few bugs a first, was fixed rather quickly
I use it on 2 of my 3 PC's. There isn't this vast difference from this and W7
I couldn't even tell you what the differences are besides the mild cosmetic ones :hula:

Because there was a sizable amount of consumers who bought Vista and could NEVER get SP1 installed due to hardware/driver issues. May not seem like such a big deal, but other vendors started to make software specifically using SP1 and it just snowballed from there.

you had to have good hardware to run it back then. most people didn't wanna have to upgrade their PCs for an OS.

Ok... I even had that problem for the longest :russ:/:to:
It never really messed with anything I needed. And they fixed that issue a long time ago.
But yeah, I see why at first it would be a turn off
Then like everything, if it sucks at first? It will keep that stigma even if its not even valid
Cuz Vista today is identical to Win7 for the most part...

From the looks of things, my company won't be moving to it until Windows 7 isn't offered anymore. I might get it for my work laptop just to play with it though.
