Let's be clear, Geto Boys are Hip Hop Legends. But It's not New York's responsibility to do 50th Anniversary Celebrations for Everyone. The Yankee Stadium Concert was very diverse in the performers. Dr. Dre and Snoop should have had a West Coast Festival with everyone from E-40, WC, Ice cube, Mack 10 etc. Scarface, Willie D and others could have had a Texas/South Festival. Eminem instead of beefing with Melle Mel should have organized a Midwest Festival getting Bone, Cruical Conflict, Twista, Do or Die etc. Atlanta could damn near do their own Festival with tons of rappers Outkast could headline with many others. I'm proud of New York for putting together all these shows. Also I don't agree with him saying Hip Hop would have died if it was just New York. That's a hypothetical that can't be proven. New York carried Hip Hop for well over Decade before the other Regions came through. I do agree that the other Regions contributions should be honored for sure though. I would say Hip Hop wouldn't be as dynamic without the other Regions for sure.
