It switches from Heel to Face sometimes, but it seems the default of wrestling for most of the time since SC v VM is Heel Authority Figure running the show.

Maybe it is just me, but I am so tired of that concept. I don't care how well the part is played....it is just played out to me.

Now I'm not going to claim to have a great answer to replace it...but I wouldn't mind them not having a super visible person...maybe have a Dana White type commish who only shows up on TV once in a blue moon, and they don't really do much storyline with him. He just makes matches, offers an opinion or two. Might tick people off, but not as a heel or face intentionally.

Make his or her agenda making matches as if he were just running UFC. People might disagree with the choices, but most of the time just announce the matches for the next week without even having some kind of goofy heel/face GM thing. A schedule.

Some of what HHH in WWE is doing, and Angle in TNA is in the ballpark, they are just positioned as heel for HHH with a power group and face for Angle...dial that back a little and it is getting there.

For Example...
Announce Brock vs whoever 3 months out and build up to the match and have the contender rise naturally through wins to get there.

Also not having the World Title defended constantly CAN elevate the secondary title back into what it once once. Something important and something wrestlers wanted...and something that might be a springboard to greatness and the de facto #1 contender.

Whatever they do, I'm just tired of the Heel Authority Figure (and really face too...just hasn't been done quite as often..but done plenty_

They need to its redundant right now the authority is basically a reboot of the corporation with Dean Ambrose in the StoneCold role

I'd rather have seen them bring back Regal as GM:mjcry:

I'm in total agreement here, shyt's mad played out.

They can still have them do stuff to draw heat on some "best for business" shyt, like denying a face a chance for revenge out of concern for injury, but having them actively be in every big feud is tired as hell.

Its a crutch to use when they don't have a lot of established heels.

Anyone who sides with the Authority automatically gets instant heel status and a degree of overness.

I can't blame them for using it because its simple and proven to be effective but notice how they rarely have to do it when they have strong line of heels running

I would love it if they went back to the old days when the fans had no clue who was in charge of a company or the guy was just some dull bureaucrat who only showed up on TV once or twice a year for some banal reason.

I agree 100%. Super tired of the same old angles and storylines. How many times must Seth or Finn fight these same 3 dudes based on HHH/Vince/Angle/Stephanie/Corbin stacking the deck against them. The company has one of their largest rosters ever, and yet we see the same matches again and again. Let's bring back a Jack Tunney like figure that only shows up for suspensions and huge event announcements. Matches just happened before SCSA/Vince right? Let's do that again
Rude and the US title in 92 was a prime example of the secondary belt being a main focus and prized possession.

ruined this chance when the shield came around.

real talk,..could have done this with lashley and remade a wwe bdc.

instead we get lashley and lio rush, being asinine and not making much sense every week instead.
just so no one makes the connection that lashley is better than brock in every possible way.

The us title used to be the most important belt. As the holder of the us title was the number one contender for big gold. WWE is so inept. Plus sonhellbent on establishing some silky ass legacy that makes no sense for their product. They have never used this. When it makes total sense to..
