- He'll practically be a celebrity in terms of connections & treatment worldwide

- He'll write a bunch of best-selling books about everything from the racial barrier to his upbringing to catching Bin Laden

- He'll get his easiest millions through a ton of speaking engagements worldwide throughout the year

And even Michelle will get in on it on all three of these points too. Will Barack be a hundred millionaire sooner than later?

I hope his daughters stay on the right track too.

I'm not from the US but judging the few past presidents, no, Obama will still be quite young when he's done (unlike Reagan and Bush Sr), is an icon basically all over the world (unlike Bush Jr) and hasn't been somewhat stained by a scandal (Clinton).

Don't know how it's in the US, but dude is also still extremely popular worldwide (regardless of his actual policies), threadstarter may be right on this one, he can chill writing books, playing hoops and raising his kids, getting good money on the conferences and seminar circuit and international love...that's the life

Yes and no.

He'll have no problem getting speaking engagements and book contracts. I don't think he's going to be high profile. Look at George Bush and Bill Clinton, they lead relatively quiet lives.

He's probably going to have to lead a quieter life because there are a lot of Obama haters out there. Sad but true. He'll have USSS around, just like other ex-presidents.

He doesn't seem like the type of person to divorce his wife and bang a million women.

yes, of course...i forgot to add how young they both are.

Barack will be 55 when he's done with an 8yr term...that's pretty crazy.
