Im not big into politics, lets just get that out of the way, but im getting more interested in it the older I get. Someone explain to me why if ure not a Republican or a Democrat u have no chance to ever compete for presidency?

U would think in this evolving society, Another party would eventually emerge and compete...no? Eventually? I think its short sighted to only have 2 parties...A lot of these stances these politicians take arent their personal beliefs, but adhere to what the party wants to hear. It would be nice to have an election where u dont have to choose between a George Bush :snoop: or a John Kerry :merchant:, but to know ure not throwing away ure vote

50-100 years from now, will another party pick up enough steam and following to compete and get votes? which party would that be if u had to guess? Its just funny looking at it from the outside (im not really affiliated with a party) and sitting there seeing it doesnt matter who u put into office right now, its not going to "magically" fix the issues going on in the world. If it was that easy, they wouldve fixed the "economy" by now for example. If people really want "change" in this nation, wouldnt it be nice to get some new faces/ideas/parties rather than just electing the same people in over and over again? Or is that these parties (Dems/Repubs) are really holding this nation together a lot better than people give them credit for, and people just have a natural instinct to complain about whats going on in the world (when in reality, it doesnt really get better than growing up in the United States compared to the majority if not all the world)

I think that is where your argument that a different political party would be better falls apart. I think you are right in saying what I bolded, but what are these new people going to that the old people aren't doing?

I dont believe u throw in a different party its gonna do anything (good anyhow)

Im saying though, just looking at the Evolution of everything in this world, wouldnt think that somewhere down the line another party is going to emerge rather than just these 2 main parties?

I am just guessing but I would think that the first past the post system of voting probably encourages a smaller number of parties than other systems. In Canada, we have FPTP and we only 3 major national political parties and there is talk of the Left-wing party and the Centrist party merging. The two main Right-wing parties of the previous decade merged together and now control the government. In the UK they also have FPTP and have only 3 main parties I think. The reason that the UK and Canada have three and the US only has 2 could be because that the UK and Canada are Left-leaning enough that there makes sense for there to be a Left-wing, a centre Left and a Right-wing party, while the US is more Right-leaning and a Left-wing party isn't viable. Getting back to your question of evolution, there would be one if there was a different voting system implemented. Take a look at the countries that use Proportional Representation: Proportional representation - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
They seem to have more political parties on the whole. I personally think that PR is more democratic than FPTP, but whether or not it would 1) have any possibility of being implemented in the US or 2) solve any structural weakness in the US governing system is something I couldn't guess :yeshrug:
