Absolutely, they just need young artists who accurately depict the environment around them....2012 NY can't relate to Uncle Murda type rappers who depict NY like its still 1992 and its a fukkin warzone...Brooklyn is NY's CAC-iest borough....sum1 just needs to spit the truth, cuz it's still about the everyday grind out here...
Perfect example is "Empire State of Mind" ....totally on point anthem about present day NY....it's about the transient environment, how everybody wants to come here n make it, some do and some get caught up in the life...that's what NY has always been about in its essence

Yes they will. All regions have their time, New York has longer than any other city. I think LA will have their shine and then I see it being NY within the next few years.
