will hbo boxing die with Emmanuel Stewart?

Yo im watching Mayweather vs. Delahoya. Man...Larry Merchant is unbearable. He constantly condescends the fighters, he plays favorites, he interjects his opinion without any respect for his colleagues, and he bickers whenever someone disagrees with him. Dude constantly tries to compare his score card to Harold lettermans as if anyone gives a fukk.

And what about Jim Lampley? His job is to color the fight. He does that well, but he plays favorites.

Emmanuel was a beautiful trainer and commentator. He had such profound insight into boxing and into fighting. I didn't trust anyone's opinion but his. Who do they promote to his spot? Max kellerman ? Come on. I love RJJ but hes no Stewart.

During that fight, yes. But that is bc stewart favored a more aggressive style of boxing, with combinations and such. He says the same thing during the hatton fight. But stewart always defended Floyd bc he could see how Merchant let his hatred of floyd pollute his opinions on the way the fight was going.

Merchant is gone, Kellerman can be a dikk at times especially with his own bias, Lampley is and Roy is the man on commentating

Showtime has always had, and still do, the best commentating for a bout, Steve Farhood, Al Bernstein and now Paulie Malignaggi (formerly Antonio Tarver) are music to my ears

HBO will be fine, they got Bob Papa to help hold it down and he does a good job, plus if need be they could always call in a legend/current star to help them out, they got clout in the boxing world

All in all it seems you just like Steward better than others. Roy is pretty damn good for a country boy from Florida. And he never Merchant get away with saying something ridiculous. I'm glad HBO didn't renew that bitter old man.

Yeah HBO boxing is dead, Merchant pissed Schaefer and Mayweather off so much that all of GB fights are now on Showtime, HBO tried to fire Merchant post Manny ko but they made they bed, and put all their eggs into Manny's basket choosing to spew propaganda for TR, it's all down hill from here, with GB controlling majority of the sports stars.......





As far as Stewart goes, I got tired of him have to shut his mouth about his opinions and play a house boy forced to support the networks agenda, listening to his commentary in the last few years, you get the feeling that he was getting tired of the shyt too, Manny vs JMM 3 is a perfect example, HBO demise started before he passed
