What was suppose to be a friendly "dancehall session" turned into a war at it's conclusion as KING ADDIES youthful selector from Trinidad "Babyface" flipped on the bronx soundsystem operator Tony Screw of Downbeat...
In an attempt to declare supremacy as the BILLBOARD "KILILNG MACHINE" of NYC...
with veteran selector Danny Dread fresh off the plane from Jamaica guiding Babyface to take over as lead selector for the Addies sound.
and Claude from the Afrique Soundsystem taking the "neutral" position entertaining the "ladies" with dance cuts from buju, capelton and beanieman.
the clash becomes "hot" BUT not disrespectful...Addies was basically "sparring" with the other sounds because it knows it had a rough schedule for the following years on the road against sounds like Earth Ruler...Stone Love..and the almighty Kill-A-MAN-JARO from jamaica
Brooklyn's own KING ADDIES pulled out all the stops and in the final round which unforutnatly is NOT featured in this YOUTUBE medley..brought out celebrated jamaican singjay (singer/deejay) "White Mice" for his rendition of True Love as "Addies Wins with True Love and no need fi search no more!!"
Right then and thier it was clear ADDIES murdered the dance
