Will being too ambitious get you killed quicker?

I was watching a movie where the main character was very ambitious, but it led to him putting himself in some situations that were hazardous to his life. I feel like the answer to my question is yes, but what do you think?

I heard a study wherein contexts of certain points in history where people were being exploited…

Those who fought back, on average, survived and had better well beings than those who stayed and took whatever exploitation was there.

Not sure how this goes on an individual level, but definitely as a collective.

not doing illegal things and not taking risks under the influence of alcohol and narcotics and you should be alright
