Will A Massive Protest Eventually Take Place in the United States?

With the continuing free fall of Obama's approval rating, the NSA debacle, the Benghazi cover up, the turmoil in Syria (and the U.S wanting to protect its Middle Eastern interests), government corruption slowly seeping into different fragments of society, and the social revolutions and protests that are beginning to take place around the world (as the world watches), is it possible that something similar could take place in the United States? (a massive protest or social revolution in various American cities?)

I could be completely wrong in my thinking as I do know the vast majority of Americans are content with their lives. However, with the government continuing to infringe on civil liberties and people slowly but surely beginning to see that it does not matter if a Republican or Democrat is in office, the agenda of the "powers that be (corporations)" will still be pushed. I get a sense in many ways that people are losing faith in their government, if they have not already and in the future, possibly in the next 5-10 years, massive protests and riots could sweep through American cities. This may come off as alarmist or conspiracy-ish but maybe the U.S government and the NSA see this as a possible outcome thus the reasons for their actions?

I just find it hard to believe that the American government truly believes that the American public feels threatened by "terrorism" and are still beating this same drum. I think it's something to think about as interesting times await us in the next decade.

I doubt it even if that did happen it wouldn't do anything except force the govt to drop the hammer on the people in the form of martial law ...

I do think they are about to shut down chicago and that will be the starting point for locking down the the rest of the country

when you look at history, social upheaval becomes an inevitability when the power structure continually increases their level of exploitation of the people.

the beast is never satisfied, so it gets more greedy and more destructive and more oppressive until it finally displaces enough people from their "comfortable" lifestyle that it wakes a sleeping giant and the backlash from the people puts the government back in check.

only to have the government develop new methods of oppression, and then it takes the masses a little while to catch on to the new methods of oppression, then eventually you hit that tipping point again where enough people get displaced, then you will have the mass public backlash, again, putting the governments ass in check.

the same thing will happen in the US.

because the elitist money trusts cant get enough wealth, power, and resources, they will eventually push society to the point where we have to put they ass in check again. hopefully for the last time...

nah cause in order for that to happen people would have to be on the same page and I don't see americans doing that. the govt. has a way of turning people who should be on the same side against eachother and people fall for it everytime.

Won't happen. The main reason is the power of propaganda and messaging in this country. If we didn't have tv and the internet this country would be in flames years ago. People are so easily distracted and kept coy that the only true riots happen only for a day or so. No one is going to riot when the Superbowl, NBA Finals, and American Idol is on. Oh Lawd, don't let Jay-Z drop an album on July 4th. Meanwhile you have intelligence agencies reading your phone messages, emails, skype video sessions, all to make sure you are not a terrorist. America is set in stone as one of the world's greatest money makin gangstas. If you are poor in this country....who gives a fukk. And if minorities are killing themselves...who gives a fukk because they will just reproduce at a faster pace filling the bottom part of the workforce. That's why education is so fukking expensive. But to riot to change this country? Shhhhhhhyyyyyttt you would need a global level attack by aliens to get these lazy and content mothafukkas up and moving.
