I was watching some of the new trailers and I realized, in 2016 comic book heads are going to :eat:.

-Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice
-X-men: Apocalypse
-Captain America: Civil War
-Suicide Squad
-Deadpool
-Gambit
-Dr. Strange

All these in the same year. :wow:

Has there ever been a year with this many blockbuster comic movies in this short of a time period? :wow:

:patrice: 2012 was GOAT.

Well, 2012 had Avengers and Dark Knight Rises. And Amazing Spiderman, which was meh to me. And there was that Judge Dredd movie but I never bothered to see it TBH.

Definitely one of the GOAT years but 2016 has the potential to surpass it. BvS, X-men: Apocalypse, Civil War, Suicide Squad, Deadpool....all in the span of a couple months.

Infinity War part 2 and Justice League Part 2 both come out on the same year. :ehh: Depending on how the preceding films turn out that could be the GOAT year of CBM.

2016 is going to be piff without a doubt. I just can't wait for the stan fukkery.:banderas:

Stop it. Comic book movies are there own GENRE. There is no fatigue to be had. Unless people get fatigued at "horror" or "comedy" or "romance" films.
I'm sure they said the same thing about westerns. Just look at ant-man it was the lowest grossing Marvel movie without inflation I believe. You can't have seven comic book movies in a year and expect them to all do well. Flops will be had.

Granted there are a few i'm really excited to see and I'm sure most of them will do well but not all

Breh Ant-man was FAR from a flop, at no point in time was Ant-man suppose to looked at to do HUGE numbers. It's budget was like 110 million or something. Compared to 200 million for GOTG and 250+ million for The Avengers. It grossed 500 million dollars world wide. And it was an origin story to ANT-MAN.

where did i say Ant-Man was a flop? I never said those words. It was the lowest grossing Marvel movie since the Incredible Hulk.. that's a fact. It was still #1 and had pretty decent legs but it really got saved by international markets.

Let's look at it this way.. Civil war and Batman are guaranteed smashes..

I'm sure x-men will do well off name but judging by the nerd reaction the past few months it'll gross probably far less than the last few.

I'm semi intrigued by doctor strange, but it could do worse #s than ant-man. probably will

Suicide squad I wanna see but who knows how well it does. DCs track record outside of Batman is real suspect

Deadpool i'm not sure on..nerds seem hyped though, but Reynolds flops for a living

I really think Gambit is gonna be a flop even it if does have tatum.

I'd say Dr. Strange and Gambit are the only ones with any chance of flopping.

Like you said, Civil War and Batman v Superman are guaranteed $$$. I'd say X-men as well based off name recognition and the fact that everybody has always wanted to see Apocalypse as a movie villain. Suicide Squad has Will Smith as a lead so it'll do well just off GP. And Deadpool has a ton of hype and it's going to be something completely different than your normal comic movie, so that's likely to be a hit.

It's possible that there could be a flop or two but I doubt superhero movies are going anywhere.

To be fair Will Smith has been flopping for a while now. And Deadpool is R so that could hold it back a little bit. But I'm sure the hardcore was still see it.

So really there's only three out of the seven that we know will be hits with two of them being smash hits
